The picture shows a view of all (9) Old Green Cross Safety Pin Back & Tin Tab Buttons in this lot. The years that each of these were made or used are unknown but they are all old. In the center is a painted brass pin. It is marked on the two sides as follows: GREEN CROSS FOR SAFETY COMMITTEE T.M. REG. MADE IN U.S.A. Above that one and to the left is an old celluloid pinback button. It is marked as follows: I HAVE LEARNED TO SWIM SPRINGFIELD SAFETY COUNCIL To the right of that pin is a tin pinback button. It reads: JUNIOR SAFETY COUNCIL ASSOCIATE MEMBER UNIVERSAL SAFETY The other (6) in this lot are all tin tab buttons. There are slight differences on some, but each of these were made by the Green Duck Company of Chicago, Illinois. They have union marks and read as follows: GREEN CROSS FOR SAFETY GREEN DUCK CO. CHICAGO To judge the sizes the center brass pin measures 1-3/16'' x 1-1/8''. These have all been used but they appear to be in good or better condition. The center pin has some tiny white paint spots spattered on it as pictured. |
