The pictures show top and bottom views of this Old Robert Journet & Company ''Merry Toast'' Dexterity Puzzle Game. This game is not dated but it is old. It is made of glass, wood, paper, cardboard, and capsules. The object is to get small wooden pieces into each of the three drink glasses (capsules) held by the Englishman and the ladies. (note: the man on the right does not have a glass in his hand, as made). There are four wooden pieces inside but they are hidden by the paper frame. One can be seen in the upper right corner. The puzzle surface is marked as follows: MERRY TOAST PUZZLE INSTRUCTIONS CHARGE THE FOUR GLASSES MADE BY R. J. LONDON MADE IN ENGLAND The back is bright yellow and it has a tongue twister that reads as follows: THE R. J. SERIES OF POPULAR PUZZLES Popular Portable Puzzles Proving Positively Perplexing and Perpetually Pleasing Posers Presenting Persistently Provoking Problems Providing Profuse Pleasure, and Producing a Palliative or Placid Panacea to People Possessing a Propensity for Persistence, Patience, Perspicacity and Painstaking Propensities. 4125 MADE BY R. As mentioned above, one of the men does not have a capsule in his hand, as made. |
