The picture below shows a larger view of all (6) Different Old Unused Blackinton Gun Competition Award Medals in this lot. We had acquired a collection of gun competition medals, and we believe that they had somehow came from the manufacturer’s inventory. Some may have been samples, some unassembled parts, and some for display. They do not appear to have been engraved or awarded to anyone. They have different combinations of top pins, medal bars, ribbons, and hanging medals. When we acquired these many were loose, some were in display boxes, and there were many empty display boxes. They were each given a box to use, but before doing so, some colored foam padding material was removed, because it was all dried up, making a mess, and sticking to some of the medals. The clear top display boxes are marked from the Blackinton manufacturer, but there is some writing on the bottoms. In the order pictured, left to right, the following medals are included here. They are marked as follows: (no pin applied at top) NOVICE CLASS 50 YARDS REST white / red / blue ribbon Medal has flying eagle, a shield, a powder horn, and a wreath BLACKINTON (no pin applied at top) NOVICE CLASS 50 YARDS OFFHAND red /white / blue ribbon Medal has a target, a wreath, and a rifle BLACKINTON (no pin applied at top) NOVICE CLASS 50 YARDS REST white / red / blue ribbon Medal has flying eagle, a shield, a powder horn, and a wreath BLACKINTON BARRINGTON ANNIVERSARY (pin) (New Hampshire) BLACK POWDER 1978 FLINTLOCK 25 YARDS OFFHAND white ribbon Medal has a target, and a (loose) rifle BLACKINTON BARRINGTON ANNIVERSARY (loose pin) (New Hampshire) BLACK POWDER 2003 black / gold ribbon Medal has a circle, and a rifle BLACKINTON (no pin applied at top) OPEN SIGHTS 50 YARDS REST white / red / blue ribbon Medal has a target, a Hunter with a rifle, powder horn, and snow shoes V.H.B. All six of these award ribbon medals for one price! To judge the sizes the bottom left medal measures about 3-5/8'' x 1-7/8''. These appear to be in excellent or better condition as pictured. |
