The picture shows a front and back view of this Old United States Navy Ship Tea or Soup Spoon. The spoon is not dated but it is old. This spoon was most likely one that was used by Officers in a ship's wardroom. The Navy ship that it came from is unknown. It appears that it may be silver or silver plated. It has not been tested. It has a very ornate pattern on the front and back. On the top of the handle there is a tiny spread eagle holding arrows. On the back in the same area it is marked ''U.S.N.''. In the design at the base of the handle there is a tiny crown marking

The teaspoon measures about 4-7/8'' long. It appears to be in excellent or better condition with a light aged patina as pictured. It could be polished if desired.
