| | | &CThe picture shows a view of this Small Colorful Valley Forge Military Academy Advertising Souvenir Plate. The plate is not dated and the year that it was made is unknown. It may have been an award or a purchased souvenir. The glass section in the center has the military schools emblem with an American flag shield, an eagle, banner, crossed swords or sabres, and a kneeling man. The metal rim is silver and marked ''STERLING''. One of the words of the manufacturer's mark on the back is difficult to read (see below). It is marked on the two sides as follows: VALLEY FORGE MILITARY ACADEMY COURAGE - HONOR - CONQUER GRAFF, WA???????? & DONN N.Y.C. STERLING The plate measures about 4-1/2'' wide. It appears to be in near mint condition as pictured. Below here, for reference, is some additional information: Valley Forge Military Academy and College From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Valley Forge Military Academy & College (usually shortened as VFMA or Valley Forge) is an American all male boarding school (grades 7-12) and coeducational (as of Fall 2006) junior college in the military school tradition. Valley Forge Military College is officially designated as the Military College of Pennsylvania, and is one of five military junior colleges and is home to an Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program. The school is located in the Pennsylvania Main Line suburb of Wayne in Radnor Township, USA (outside of Philadelphia). Though military in tradition and form, Valley Forge Military Academy (the high school portion of VFMA&C) is a college preparatory boarding institution. VFMA&C's administration is composed almost entirely of current or retired military and the Board of Trustees are almost entirely alumni. Some graduates pursue careers in armed services, and VFMA&C has one Rhodes Scholar. VFMA&C and the Duke of York's Royal Military School, United Kingdom have become sister institutions. |
